Poetry

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Nelson Mandela, from Marianne Williamson's 'A return to love'

All temporarily experiences do not lead to lasting happiness
True fulfillment can be found in the silence of your hearth,
inner peace and stillness only.
There you find God

Paul Van Hooydonck

Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations.
You are originally unlimited and perfect.
Later you take on limitations and become the mind.

Ramana Maharshi

It is not so important to love all men today
as it is that each day
you learn to love one more human being.

urantia book - 1098:03

When I despair,
I remember that all through history
the ways of truth and love have always won.
There have been tyrants, and murderers,
and for a time they can seem invincible,
but in the end they always fall.
Think of it - always.

mahatma gandhi - early 20th century

If you are in the future, then ego seems to be very substantial.
If you are in the present the ego is a mirage, it starts disappearing.

Namaste

I honour the place in you,
in which the entire universe dwells:
The place of love, truth, light and peace.
When we honour this place within each other we are one.

Mantra's

Ashtanga opening mantra

vande gurunam charanaravinde, sandarsita svatmasukhava bodhe
nihsreyase jangalikayamane, samsara halahala mohasantyai

abahu purusakaram, sankhacakrasi dharinam
sahasra sirasam svetam, pranamami patanjalim
om

I bow to the lotus feet of the guru who awakens insight into the happiness of pure Being, who is the final refuge, the jungle physician, who eliminates the delusion caused by the poisonous herb of samsara [conditioned existence]. I prostrate before the sage Patanjali who has thousands of radiant, white heads [in his form as the divine serpent, Ananta] and who has, as far as his arms, assumed the form of a man holding a conch shell [divine sound], a wheel [discus of light, representing infinite time] and a sword [discrimination].

Ashtanga mangala closing mantra

om
svasti prajabhyam paripalayantham nyayeana margena mahim maheesah
gobrahmanebhya shubamsthu nityam lokah samastha sukhino bhavanthu
om
om shanti, shanti, shantihi

May there be well being to the people
May the kings rule the earth along the right path
May the cattle and the Brahmins have well being forever
May all the beings in all the worlds become happy
Peace, peace and peace be everywhere!
